Apartments in The West Village were traditionally the home of writers, poets and artists, but now is home to a wide array of artists, professionals and families. Mid-rises, town homes and brownstone style homes dominate the area. Quiet tree lined blocks, river views and small parks give the area “a small town feel.”

Dining and shopping in The West Village offer a multitude of choices. Small boutiques, and locally owned restaurants dot the streets. Larger stores have also moved in, and supply trendy West Villagers with their dose of luxury labels. Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and even Alexander McQueen have boutique stores in The West Village.

The West Village is also home to historic landmarks, parks and eateries. The White Horse is rumored to be where Dylan Thomas would drink his ale. Abingdon Square was made a public park in 1830’s, and The Village Vanguard (one of New York’s most famous jazz clubs) has occupied the area since the 1930’s.
