NEW YORK -- Urban Sanctuary, one of the leading names in New York City real estate, announced today that Kristen Bacorn will be a featured speaker at the 2008 Construction Expo at the Jacob Javits Center on September 24th and 25th. Kristen's speech, titled "Greenhouse," will focus on green residential architecture, in which Kristen is an expert.

Audiences at the Construction Expo are typically developers, contractors , property managers and brokers as well as interested members of the public. "I believe in the green movement and love helping people to adopt green practices," said Kristen Bacorn, Urban Sanctuary's Sales Authority. "Green philosophies have really caught on, and my audiences are hungry for technical knowledge on the subject. Just two years ago, people used to ask, 'Why should I live in a green building? Now they ask 'Why should I live in a building that isn't green?"

Kristen was introduced to green principles as a child when her father told her about the electric cars he used in the 1920s. She is now in great demand as a green educator and consultant to developers, manufacturers, brokers and other professionals. Kristen was trained as an architect and serves on the Committee on the Environment at the American Institute of Architects. She also belongs to the US Green Building Council and is esteemed for creating the first green architecture course officially accredited by the New York Department of State. Since then she has visited many green construction sites, worked on the construction site of America's first green residential high-rise, and has been a featured speaker in venues all over New York.
